CHARACTER SHEET – MARKUS APOLLINARIN

Name/Alias: Markus Apollinarin

Gender: Male

Age: 32

Race/Ethnicity/Cultural Background: Turian

Alignment/Morality: Lawful Good

Class: Infiltrator

Physical Description: Strong and hardy with growing up in the harsh climate of Invictus' capital city, Markus stands at 6'4 and boasts more than a few battle scars. He has gray skin and three white markings under his left eye. His eyes are an icy blue. Markus readily smiles, but often there is any real humor or warmth behind his smile.

Birthplace/Hometown: Invictus (Milky Way / Minos Wasteland / Caestus / Invictus)

Occupation: Ex-C-Sec, “former” Turian military, and now looking for work.

Biography: His father having died in combat before he was born, Markus was raised by his mother (Sabina) and three older sisters (Glorienna, Vella, and Hestia). His mother's brother took a keen interest in raising him, though the effects of growing up around women can be seen in many facets of his personality. For example, Markus is an excellent dancer and can pick out a good fabric. He'll also readily mention getting beaten up by his sisters and recalls glorifying in the day that he could finally beat the eldest, Glorienna. His mother and sisters are all excellent fighters.

At fifteen he left for boot camp, trained for a year, and the military became his life. While he thought about taking a mate, it never became a priority. The role of uncle to Glorienna and Hestia's children was enough for him. When he was twenty-five, he was sponsored for his application to C-Sec and joined their ranks. Markus worked in Customs, working his way up the ladder, and being responsible for many of the take-downs of several high profile smuggling rings.

Markus was always closest to his sister Vella. They even shared a birthday, though she was five years his senior. The most reserved, the sweetest rather than the gentlest, of Markus' sisters, he always delighted in making Vella laugh. Shortly before his thirtieth birthday, Markus was informed of Vella's death and he took it hard. The mysterious circumstances surrounding it didn't help. Even with all his contacts and experience, Markus could dig up little on Vella's death. It was hushed up and all he knows is that it went far above his pay-grade and involved biotics. Oh joy, another reason to distrust biotics!

Cut loose from C-Sec, Markus is a disenchanted wanderer. He'll learn the truth of Vella's death one day, but until then he's enjoying being a free radical and reading about Earth's eastern religions. While he'll always be a Turian, willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good, the greater good isn't calling today.

Strengths: Like all Turians, he's a skilled fighter, but his abilities go above the average Turian. Hand to hand combat, not so much. Sniping? Not really his forte. Markus is good at getting to the root of the problem and weeding out the key factors in solving a situation. He's an excellent strategist, but this ability also helped him while working in Customs for C-Sec. Uncovering smuggling schemes, even the suave and sophisticated, were his specialty. But Markus still loves getting into a good old gunfight! Markus is a pretty smooth-talker and has been known to charm his way out of a situation, around a bit of information, and into a bedroom.

Weaknesses: Distrustful of biotics in general, but more for the instability of it than anything else. Markus tends to view subjects in basic terms with few 'gray areas.' He believes in right and wrong and fighting against those who would do wrong. He's at odds with his own wandering as it goes against his own need to serve the greater good. He can get testy when it's brought up. Emotionally Markus is a little problematic. On the surface he's a bit of a jokester and definitely a smooth-talker, but if anyone tries to dig beneath the surface, he'll try to shut them out. He doesn't need anyone trying to warm his heart. That romantic stuff? Just not for him.
