Name: Chorra
Age: 132
Race: Asari
Gender: n/a
Class: Adept
Occupation: Sales Attendant
Alignment: Naively nuetral
Appearance: At 5’ 4”, Chorra is rather shorter and stouter than your average asari, and with a decidedly smaller cup-size. While she doesn’t consider herself unattractive, her flat chest compared to other asari has made her consider herself “plain and boring” next to them. She is light lavender in color, with a heavy dusting of freckles across her nose.
Backrgound: Chorra is the daughter of an Asari Commando gone rogue assassin, Bast, and an exiled Quarian turned mercenary, Rajed. The two went through plenty of dangerous adventures together, blowing up slaving ships and space stations, killing gang lords, and doing lots of other crazy shit. Eventually, they decided to do the one thing they’d always sworn to avoid, and settle down to start a family. Chorra was the tiny, lavender result. Bast and Rajed adored her, and tried their very best to have a normal life with her, but they just weren’t very good at daily life when it didn’t involve guns and explosions.
Most of Chorra’s childhood was spent in the care of her aunt Bes, while her parents were off continuing their adventures. They visited as often as they could, and Chorra adored them too much to hold any grudges against them for their constant disappearances. Her Aunt Bes was in a state of constant disapproval of her sister, due not only to her violent lifestyle but also to having mated with a Quarian. Still, she doted on Chorra and did her best to make sure the young girl didn’t end up like her parents, running around the galaxy like a bunch of crazy vigilantes.
Before Chorra could even reach adolescence, disaster struck. Her parents died in an assault on a mercenary base, managing to destroy their target but perishing in the ensuing explosion. Chorra was devastated and left permanently in the care of her aunt. Bes promptly moved the two of them to the Citadel to get as far away from that “ridiculous mercenary nonsense” as she could, and for the next hundred or so years raised Chorra into the precocious, awkward girl she is today. Bes took every step possible to make sure that Chorra did not end up like her parents, constantly lecturing her on the dangers of the galaxy and everything in it, and forbid Chorra from developing her biotics in anything past shielding and defense.
During the Battle of the Citadel, Chorra and Bes are among the many citizens taken unaware by the invading Geth. Bes is quickly gunned down but Chorra is narrowly saved by a quick-thinking C-Sec officer. Sticking with the officer, Chorra uses her biotic talents to create a powerful shield to protect them from danger. The battle eventually ends, and Chorra and the C-Sec officer head towards one of the safer areas. They are separated by the crowds before Chorra can thank him or learn his name.
With Bes dead, Chorra finds herself suddenly very much alone, and, with no other direction in life, she decides to remain on the Citadel, helping rebuild and eventually resuming her job as a shop clerk in Zakera Ward. She leads a pretty dull life, until when dealing with an unruly shoplifter the same C-Sec officer that had helped her in the battle comes to her aid, arresting the man. Assuming there’s no way the officer would remember her out of all the people he had helped that day, Chorra resists from bringing the subject up. Over several weeks she builds up a crush on him, bordering almost on stalkerish, and a few times even purposefully creating disturbances to make an excuse to talk to him. Finally, after months of awkward interactions, the two introduce each other.
Then the officer is promptly reassigned off-world and disappears. Chorra was not initially aware of the disappearance, but after not seeing him for two weeks she got nervous enough to check into it, and after that got worried enough to even dare to pull a few strings her parents had left her and look into it further. The officer had apparently disappeared investigating a supposed biotic facility on Pragia, and from what Chorra could tell, no one really seemed to be doing much about it. In a daring move, she decides to abandon her job as a sales attendant, sell her apartment, and use the considerable funds her parents left her to try and track the officer down and help him.
This plan has not been going quite as well as she would have hoped.
Skills: Chorra is appears to be an extremely powerful biotic, much like her mother was, but due to her domineering aunt she doesn’t know how to do much besides create shields. However, these are very, very powerful shields and even someone highly skilled would have problems getting past it. Besides that, however, Chorra does not seem to have many skills and is generally regarded as weak. She can’t run very far without losing her breath, has little physical strength of note, can’t handle a weapon to save her life (though after selling them for a good part of her life she knows plenty about everything from pistols to rocket launchers), and probably due in part to her Quarian ancestry, gets sick very easily. She is generally timid, nervous, and gullible, though she tries her hardest to live up to her parent’s badassery. This tends to have mixed results.
Hobbies: Chorra enjoys reading celebrity gossip and is a big fan of tabloids. She is a shameless fangirl, and one of her most prized possessions is an autograph book that contains the signatures of more than a few celebrities and notable individuals (including Commander Shepard). She is a big movie buff and spends more time alone watching vids or surfing the extranet rather than going out and having a life. |
