Most of this should go without saying, but I figure it bears repeating and putting in print, so to speak.
1. Keep it PG-13
We're all mature people, but since this is essentially a public forum, the goal is to keep things PG-13. Romance is encouraged, and language (to an extent) is allowed, but if you'd be embarrassed letting your parents read your post, it probably should go here. Certain kinds of language will not be tolerated, such as racial and ethnic slurs. Nothing sexual is allowed in these forums either.
2. Be Polite
Once again, this should go without saying, but I'd like to think that we're all friends here. Conflict between characters is natural, and probably unavoidable, but we should try to be polite to everyone in the forum. If you're having a trouble with another member that you don't feel comfortable taking care of yourself, message one of the administrators and we'll see if some sort of compromise can be reached. This is supposed to be a fun experience for everyone, so let's try and keep it that way!
3. Keep it IC
We have a section of our forum dedicated specifically to out of character interactions, so I'd like to discourage any OOC conversations out in the roleplay forums. If you have a quick question to ask the person you're interacting with, please put it at the bottom of your post in parenthesis, or try IMing the other person (most people are putting contact information in the introduction forum).
4. Be Literate
Since this is a forum roleplay, we will be writing in paragraph form. That means grammatically correct sentences, capitalization, and punctuation. We're not going to be grammar Nazis, but it is important to make sure that your posts are serious. That means no chat speak or anything of the like. This doesn't apply to the OOC forums, so if you want to troll it up in the discussion area, be my guest.
5. Avatars and Signatures
At the moment, we have no need to regulate the size of signatures. Don't post a wallpaper there, but you more or less have creative freedom to post whatever you want (that isn't offensive and obeys the rating rules). Avatars should be kept at 200x200 or less.
6. NPCs
In some situations, it may be necessary to use NPCs in order to further character interactions or elaborate on the situation. Non-hostile NPCs should have all text relating to their actions in dark blue, and hostile NPCs should have all related text in dark red.
